Christmas Card Pictures - UNCUT

The cost to mail a Christmas Card to the US from Canada has continued to increase. We started a tradition three years ago to mail Christmas Cards from Cleveland while visiting for Thanksgiving. This means we have to have the pictures taken, cards made and envelopes addressed before we get to Cleveland so we can buy stamps at the US Post Office and mail them. Our tradition had been that our kids, our "presents", are our Christmas Card.

I heard MacMom say it takes 200 pictures to get one good picture. The weather was nice today so we went to the Credit River to take some pictures. I captured all the excitement of a professional photo shoot with by candid, behind-the-scenes, unauthorized pictures... you get the idea.

Pooped!

Tired Boy-Tired Dog...
It looks likes they need a vacation from the vacation.
We always drop Coco off in Cleveland at Nana & Papa's house before we fly to Florida on Spring Break. This is a picture of Coco and MacDaddy on the car ride back to Toronto (Oakville) from Cleveland.

Shhh!!! Everyone is Still Sleeping...

I have always been a morning person. The family is still sleeping. I snuck out and walked around the corner to the beach. The house with the "Texas Garbage Can" is where we are staying.

I walked down one house and then between houses to get to the beach

I prefer the sunrise over sunset. MacDaddy just woke up... busy day ahead...

Tryout

We take a lot of pictures. Our most used "pocket" camera broke a few months ago. With spring break and outdoor ball season around the corner, we needed a replacement. I have been looking at cameras, and finally chose a Panasonic DMC-TZ5. Not a lot of choice in Canada. Funny, I asked for a lot of advice and ended up buying a camera no one but the Best Buy salesperson recommended. At MacDaddy's baseball practice today, I was fooling around with the settings. I am fortunate to be surrounded with good looking subjects for my pictures.

You Can't Always Have What You Want

Or Can You? Where did those ringlet curls go?A-mac always wanted straight hair like Lil' Lefty. Yesterday, after softball practice, A-mac went over a teammates house for a couple of hours. They spent 30 minutes (and one burn to the ear) straightening out her hair with a flat iron. Voila! Here she is with straight hair.

"Eye" Spy

"Eye" spy with my little eyes something blue. No, not my eyes silly, they are green! But you're warm. Yep! You got it. GLASSES! Blue glasses. I had to get extra "eyes" for reading. Don't I look smart? Mom says I am still handsome.

P.S. I lost my Nanny McPhee tooth Sunday night. The Tooth Fairy left me 5 bucks!

I Can See!!!!

I remember my thoughts when I first put on glasses. I couldn't believe and didn't understand that people could actually see that far. A-mac finally got her glasses. After three consecutive annual eye doctor visits being told you are on the border of needing glasses, A-mac finally crossed that border.

Eye like the way they look....

MacDaddy's Sunflower

Mac Daddy's favorite flower is a sunflower. This past spring while at a local garden center, Mac Daddy asked if we could plant sunflowers. We purchased a pack of seeds, went home and planted the seeds in a bed in our backyard. MacDaddy patiently watched his seeds sprout and a sunflower plant grow taller and taller each week, quickly surpassing him in height. His first sunflower bloomed today. He asked, "Mom, can be put a bucket under the plant so when the seeds fall they don't land in the dirt? I don't want to eat dirty seeds."
